Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a motivated pharmacist to join its Brent/Harrow Pharmacy team. This role offers band 6 to 7 progression with excellent opportunities for clinical development in both physical and mental healthcare. The ideal candidate should have pharmacy qualifications and previous NHS experience is desirable. The position requires participation in weekend duties and a rotation between various sites. Job Summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our Brent/Harrow Pharmacy team at Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust.

The rotational post offers you an excellent opportunity for band 6 to 7 progression. Progression is subject to completion of necessary in‑house criteria and a successful portfolio review. It also offers a great opportunity to develop your clinical and professional knowledge and skills in both physical and mental healthcare settings.

Responsibilities
  • You will need to demonstrate a person‑centred approach and have effective interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Previous NHS Hospital pharmacy experience, including mental health, is desirable.
  • You will also be expected to participate in weekend duty and on call rotas following induction and training.
  • Progression to band 7 is considered for applicants who are currently suitable to practice at a band 7 level.
  • You will be expected to rotate between our Harrow and Brent sites, working both inpatient and community mental health team settings.

Person Specification
  • Education & Qualifications (Essential)
    • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
    • Master’s Degree in pharmacy followed by the completion of pre‑registration training and experience.
    • To be working towards or willing to work towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy.
  • Education & Qualifications (Desirable)
    • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS).
  • Previous Experience (Essential)
    • Good knowledge and understanding of therapeutic areas and pharmacological treatments obtained through the completion of a degree course and pre‑registration year.
    • Experience of working with patients either in a hospital or community setting.
    • Knowledge and understanding of basic clinical governance principles.
    • Experience working to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Accuracy in dispensing and checking prescriptions.
  • Previous Experience (Desirable)
    • Experience in hospital pharmacy

    • Experience of supervising junior pharmacy staff
