Rotational Dietitian

Closing date: 26 December 2025

Fixed term contract until March 2027

Hours: 37.5 per week, all MUKH roles will be considered for flexible working

Post level: Band 5. Will accept HCPC registered dietitians waiting for registration, eligible for B4 role until competencies are achieved.

An excellent opportunity for a registered Dietitian to join our friendly, proactive dietetic team. This rotational band 5 position will allow you to practice and develop all you have learned.

Join our team of over 30 registered dietitians, dietetic support workers and admin staff covering acute, community, paediatric and learning disability services.

We have a dedicated Therapy Practice Education team to support staff development.

Work as part of a team to provide nutrition and dietetic services to inpatients and outpatients of Milton Keynes General NHS Trust. Assist in supporting Dietetic Students and Dietetic Assistants. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner.

Job responsibilities
Clinical
  • Develop and maintain a high standard of knowledge and practical experience in dietetics.
  • Provide nutritional therapy, education and support to inpatients of MKUH.
Education
  • Proactively identify and address educational needs of patients, carers and other health professionals.
  • Assist in providing training and guidance for members of the multidisciplinary team.
Clinical Governance
  • Work within the HCPC Code of Practice and guidelines of the British Dietetic Association.
  • Work within the requirements of Acute Trust policies and procedures.
Committee Membership

The post holder will represent the Dietetic Department at internal or external meetings such as:

  • Quality Development Meetings
  • Acute Department Meetings

Person Specification
Qualifications and knowledge
  • An appropriate degree recognised for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Membership of the British Dietetic Association.
Experience
  • Clinical practice experience consistent with successful completion of student clinical placement.
  • Competent in the use of IT equipment and basic software, especially e‑mail and word‑processing.
Skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Practices evidence‑based dietetics; can research, appraise evidence, devise practical action from evidence.
  • Strong presentation skills; ability to work with individuals and groups.
  • Sound clinical dietetic skills for adult patients.
