Job Summary
Band 6 to Band 7 progression. The post holder will be an experienced pharmacist who, within the structured senior pharmacist rotation, undertake departmental as well as ward-based duties.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with medicines legislation.
- Provide medication to patients in a safe and legal manner.
- Work independently but be able to discuss issues with peer group and senior colleagues.
- Be the lead pharmacist within the clinical speciality on rotation.
- Actively participate in the delivery of the clinical pharmacy service and medicines management initiatives within the speciality and the Trust.
- Assist in the planning and development of these services within the speciality and in the provision of financial reports to the divisions.
- Professionally and managerially support the Pharmacist Team Leader.
- Be competent in and participate in any aspect of the Pharmacy service, be it ward or department based.
Person Specification
- MPharm or equivalent.
- Registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
- Hold a postgraduate certificate / diploma / MSC qualification in clinical pharmacy / pharmacy practice.
- Recent UK experience of pharmacy practice.
- Recent post‑registration experience of hospital pharmacy practice with a balanced hospital pharmacy rotation.
