Job summary

Orchard Vets in Romsey is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis. You will deliver high-quality nursing care across first opinion cases, supporting surgeons and the broader practice, with flexibility to work across Bassett, Fair Oak, Romsey and Ashurst branches.

We place a strong emphasis on collaborative, patient-focused care and offer development through our Nurse Graduate Programme and Nurse Academy, with clear progression within a supportive primary care

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Experience in clinical practice with medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical nursing support including inpatient care, anaesthesia, theatre work and nurse consultations.
• Help develop nurse-led services and support clinical initiatives and diary efficiency.
• Develop clinical interests and contribute ideas to enhance patient care and client experience.
• Work across multiple practices to gain experience in all aspects of veterinary nursing.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Orchard Vets on a full-time basis.

Orchard Vets is a well-established veterinary practice group with a reputation for excellence and a commitment to providing high-quality care to our community and their pets for over 35 years. Originally based in Romsey, we have continued to grow, with established branches in Ashurst and our newer practices in Bassett and Fair Oak.

Our practices offer a range of facilities and equipment, including dental radiography, laparoscopy, endoscopy, K-Laser, Vetscan Imagyst and cryotherapy, alongside access to a local IVC referral centre for support with more complex cases.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

This role will involve working across our Bassett, Fair Oak, Romsey and Ashurst branches, with the working location determined by clinical demand and the needs of the wider team.

Working Pattern

• 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday over 4 or 5 days
• 1 in 5 Saturday mornings (8:30am - 12:30pm)
• No on-call commitment, with out-of-hours provided by Vets Now
• Flexible working options available
