Job summary

Sydenhams is seeking a skilled Truss Designer to join our Wickham-based technical team. You will produce accurate roof truss and floor joist designs using CAD software, interpret architectural and structural drawings, and coordinate with engineers, production teams and customers to deliver practical solutions.

The role requires experience in roof truss or timber engineering design, a strong understanding of timber frame construction and roof structures, and a high level of accuracy with

Qualifications

• Experience in roof truss or timber engineering design (essential or highly desirable).
• Strong understanding of timber frame construction and roof structures.
• High level of accuracy with computer-based design software.
• Literate, numerate, and confident with computer-based design software.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and architectural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed roof truss and joist layout designs using CAD-based software.
• Interpreting architectural and structural drawings.
• Working closely with engineers, production teams, and customers to deliver practical solutions.
• Ensuring all designs comply with building regulations and industry standards.
• Providing technical support and advice to internal teams and customers.

The Role:
