Job summary

iRock School of Music is recruiting for a full-time music educator to deliver high-energy, band-style sessions in primary schools across the UK. You will teach drums, keyboard, guitar and vocals with confidence in at least two instruments, building strong relationships with pupils and school staff.

The role involves live performance preparation, light administration, and setup/pack-down of equipment, with a fixed Hull location and a lunchtime-friendly timetable.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching music to primary-aged children.
• Ability to lead high-energy band sessions.
• Confidence performing and teaching at least two instruments.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, high-energy band sessions for groups of primary-aged children across up to 10 schools each week.
• Teach drums, keyboard, guitar and vocals, with confidence in at least two of them.
• Build warm, positive relationships with pupils, parents and school staff.
• Help children prepare for their live performances.
• Carry out light daily admin (around 30 minutes per day).
• Support learners working towards entry-level RSL music awards.
• Set up and pack away equipment as part of the daily routine.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: Starting at £27,000 per year with the opportunity to progress to £31,000

Bonus: Annual Bonus linked to both Company and Individual Performance

Additional Pay: Mileage paid for travel between schools at 45p per mile

Holiday: 11 weeks of paid school holidays, plus bank holidays

• Competent on least two instruments (Drums, Guitar, Keys and Vocals)
• Friendly, upbeat and able to connect quickly with both children and adults

• Organised and comfortable managing a varied weekly timetable
• Reliable and dedicated to giving each child a great experience
• A clear communicator who adapts easily to different environments
• Comfortable with the physical side of the job, including moving equipment
• Full UK driving licence and your own vehicle (essential)
