Job summary

AUAR in London is seeking a robotics software engineer to work across ROS 2 Jazzy codebase for MicroFactories. You will collaborate with robotics software developers, controls engineers and product engineers on a modern robotics stack with ABB, Festo and NVIDIA Jetson.

Ideal candidates have production software experience, strong Python, C++, Linux, and ROS 2, plus Docker. Remote/hybrid options are available, and the team operates from a 10,000 sq ft facility in Black Horse Road, E17.

Qualifications

• Proven shipping/production software experience with testing, CI and debugging.
• Strong Python software engineering skills applied to robotics software (C++ a plus).
• Experience with ROS 2: nodes, topics, services, actions, parameters, launch and composition.

Responsibilities

• Develop features across the full robotics stack in ROS 2 Jazzy.
• Design modular, testable subsystems for team-wide integration.
• Diagnose system issues using field data, simulations, and real hardware testing.
• Replicate bugs and test features directly on microfactory hardware.
• Engineer robust solutions for real-world edge cases.
• Conduct code and design reviews to maintain quality and maintainability.
• Contribute to internal tooling and engineering processes.
