Role Overview

Selling robots for use within the factory automation environment including Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Automotive, etc. Working across all industries while managing a few key accounts that are more demanding, based in the Midlands and within the automotive and general industrial markets.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain key accounts, understand requirements, provide quotes, and support technical queries.
  • Cover a patch, either North or South, depending on location.
  • Visit customers and pursue new business, highlighting robot benefits compared to other manufacturers.
  • Discuss technical aspects and benefits of robots, engage in solutions selling, and coordinate with system integrators for integration support.
  • Handle orders ranging from £20k to £250k with a target of approximately 20 robots per year.
  • Manage lead times up to 22 weeks or longer – a capital equipment sale.
  • Allocate 30‑40% of time to account management and 60‑70% to new business and increasing spend in current accounts.
Qualifications
  • Ideally from the automation industry with general understanding of automation.
  • Must have understanding of robots/robotics.
  • Must be able to sell capital equipment and understand longer lead times and lower order numbers.
  • Experience with a system integrator background is desirable.
  • No qualification required; an engineering qualification is a benefit.
