Job Title: Roaming Catering Assistant - REQ 591700
Location: Alsager School - ST7 2HR and surrounding areas
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Term-time only - 39 working weeks per year, with holiday pay bringing total to 43.689 weeks)
Salary: £12.21 per hour / Annual Salary: £8,535.09

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and adaptable Roaming Catering Assistant to join our friendly catering team, based at Alsager School and supporting nearby schools in the region. You'll be a key team member helping to maintain a smooth, efficient, and welcoming catering service.

This is a mobile role, and therefore a full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide flexible cover across multiple school sites, covering staff absence and supporting service delivery
• Prepare and serve food and beverages, including cold food and sandwich preparation
• Operate tills, take payments, and support customer service
• Support front-of-house tasks including table clearing and maintaining a tidy dining area
• Assist with restocking, stock rotation and general food safety tasks
• Clean all catering areas to a high standard, including sweeping, mopping, and general kitchen duties
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and demonstrate a flexible, can-do attitude
• Full training and support provided, both on the job and via our online e-learning platform

• What We're Looking For:
  Aged 18 or over
• Previous catering experience is beneficial
• Able to work independently, travel between sites, and adapt to different environments
• Comfortable with physical duties such as standing for long periods, lifting, and bending
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safe, hygienic working practices
• Experience interacting with inmates is a plus - some locations may require this
• Must be eligible for and maintain correctional facility clearance (if applicable)
• Able to obtain a Food Safety Certification
