Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to deliver expert roadside repair, diagnostics and breakdown support across the UK. You’ll often start and finish at home, using your own drive to reach members quickly and safely in your local area.

With a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years of experience, you’ll work in a fast-paced team while enjoying a market-competitive base salary and realistic OTE, plus tools, van and full uniform provided by day one.

• 2+ years' experience as a technician/mechanic or 5+ years in a similar role.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £60,000, with top-performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
• Start and finish on your driveway.
• Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.

Where you'll work

You’ll be part of the Warrington cluster, covering areas like Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Newton-le-Willows, Leigh, Golborne, Ashton-in-Makerfield. We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

What you’ll need

• Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether it’s a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault‑finding, you’ll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most. You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head‑on and making a real impact on the roadside – combining your technical expertise with outstanding member service.
