Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert roadside repair, diagnostics, and urgent breakdown support across the UK. You will use your Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years of hands-on experience to diagnose faults, perform repairs, and reassure members on the road.

Your day starts and finishes at home, with an RAC van, fuel card, and full tools provided. You will enjoy a market-competitive base salary (£36,400) and a realistic OTE of around £60,000, plus enhanced

A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £60,000, with top-performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.Start and finish on your driveway. Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.

What you’ll need:

Either:

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experienceor5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether it’s a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault-finding, you’ll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most.

You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head-on and making a real impact on the roadside - combining your technical expertise with outstanding member service.
