Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division, delivering expert mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform repairs, and ensure members reach safety quickly and confidently.

Starting from your driveway with 40-hour weeks and optional overtime, you’ll develop through a structured technical pathway and may achieve IMI accreditation. Competitive base pay and strong benefits are included.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years' experience, or 5+ years as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and provide quick, confident solutions to members.
• Work independently with the latest diagnostic technology and maintain high customer service standards.
