Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) to join a national breakdown service in Brighton. The role offers a strong base plus substantial OTE, with overtime, bonus opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

The position requires a valid UK work visa/permit, a minimum Level 2 (ideally Level 3) light vehicle qualification, and at least 2 years of hands-on experience. A full UK driving licence with up to 6 points is essential.

Qualifications

Must have Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualifications (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ or equivalent).
Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, in a workshop or mobile role.

Responsibilities

Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible, ensuring member mobility.
Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
