Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician in Corby. You will diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside, delivering fast, reliable breakdown support across the UK. Expect to work around 40 hours weekly with overtime options, starting and finishing at home while servicing RAC members.

You'll perform fault finding, diagnostics, and on-site repairs using your Level 2 qualification and up-to-date tools. RAC provides a dedicated van, fuel card, full uniform, and essential equipment to begin from day one.

Qualifications

• Hold Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Perform fault finding and repairs on-site, ensuring quick, confident solutions for RAC members.
• Utilise RAC van, fuel card, and diagnostic tools provided on day one to complete each call-out.

Join the team that keeps the UK moving. As a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years' experience, you'll receive:

• A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £60,000, with top-performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
• Start and finish on your driveway.
• Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.

What you'll need:

• Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you'll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether it's a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault-finding, you'll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most.

You'll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head-on and making a real impact on the roadside - combining your technical expertise with outstanding member service.

We'll set you up for success from day one, with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.
