About the Role – Roadside Recovery Assistant

Do you have a keen interest in mechanics, perhaps a Level 2 SVQ? This role can offer great learning and development for someone looking to further their career in engineering. The Roadside Recovery Assistant attends and repairs vehicle breakdowns on the road – a great fit if you have a background in mechanics, enjoy driving, and want to learn more. It’s an important role within our depot with great progression opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Attend and repair bus breakdowns
  • Book out parts from Stores when required
  • Deliver a high standard of repair or temporary repair to get our buses back to the depot
  • Complete accurate breakdown records, keeping paperwork up to date and correctly completed
  • Carry out any other duties that may be deemed suitable by the engineering manager

Location: Blantyre, G72 0LA

Working Hours: 38 hours per week – 5 days over 7‑day shift and back shift

Hourly Rate: £12.86 p/h – £25,411 p/a

About You
  • Familiar with mechanical repair techniques and the use of diagnostic equipment
  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence
  • PCV Licence is advantageous, not essential – we will help you gain this
  • Great attention to detail and a willingness to learn
