Overview

Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician. As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you will deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.

Salary & Hours
  • Base salary £35,000 with realistic OTE £60,000; top performers earn significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
  • Demand‑led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.
Responsibilities
  • Provide quick, confident roadside repair, battery, tyre changes and fault diagnosis.
  • Deliver outstanding member service, staying calm under pressure and confident in your craft.
  • Think on your feet to make the right call for each customer, tackling varied tasks across the UK.
  • Operate your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform and diagnostic kit, all provided.
Qualifications
  • A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with proven technical, electrical and diagnostic experience.
  • A customer‑focused approach.
  • A full UK driving licence.
