Job summary

RAC seeks a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division in Caerphilly. You will perform roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK, leveraging your Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification and 2+ years’ experience.

You start and finish at home, work ~40 hours per week with optional overtime, and are equipped with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform and diagnostic kit from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years in a vehicle technician role
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Provide expert roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Deliver quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members on call-outs.

• A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £60,000, with top-performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
• Start and finish on your driveway.
• Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.

• Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
