Job summary

The AA is recruiting a Roadside Rescue Mechanic in the United Kingdom. You’ll work on average a 40-hour week across flexible patterns to help members get back on the road, anytime, anywhere and in any weather.

Guaranteed year 1 earnings of £35,936 inclusive of allowances, with OTE up to £45,000 for top performers. You’ll need NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance, a clean UK licence (6 points max) and a readiness to adapt to varied locations and shifts.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• Full UK driving licence with 6 points or less
• Ability to use tools and diagnose roadside faults
• Willingness to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Start and finish on the driver’s driveway, paid from start to finish
• Work independently across varied locations while staying part of a team
• Use technical knowledge and clear communication to ensure customer satisfaction
• Resolve roadside issues on the spot with calm, professional approach

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What will I be doing?

• Starting and finishing on your driveway paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
• Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to help ensure a positive customer experience.
• Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
