Job summary

Ods in Oxford is seeking a frontline highways operative to maintain roads and communities. You’ll perform pothole repairs, kerb and slab work, tarmac surfacing, and drainage tasks as part of planned maintenance and resurfacing schemes.

You’ll also help with winter gritting and emergency responses on a rota. A full UK driving licence and prior highways experience are essential, with a competitive salary and LGPS pension on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience with highways maintenance and construction plant machinery.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work on rota-based emergency responses.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pothole repairs, kerb and slab laying, tarmac surfacing, and drainage works.
• Support large resurfacing schemes and winter gritting operations.
• Attend emergencies on a rota basis and ensure road safety.
