Overview

Road Freight Coordinator - Tamworth - Up to £28,000

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
• Contract: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)
• Location: Tamworth (office-based)
• Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the movement of import and export consignments by road between the UK and Europe.
• Support the department's commercial goals by ensuring smooth logistics operations, accurate documentation, and on-time delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, agents, and subcontractors, ensuring service excellence in line with company SOPs.
• Complete all import/export and invoicing processes accurately, ensuring compliance with legal and financial requirements.
• Ensure all operational milestones are achieved within agreed timeframes.
• Work closely with sales and customer service teams, sharing new business leads and providing shipment updates.
• Prepare and send customer quotations promptly and maintain consistent record-keeping within company systems.
• Assist with credit control by following up on overdue payments when required.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in a road freight forwarding or similar logistics coordination role (UK-based).
• Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
• Excellent organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Confident communicator with strong written and verbal English skills.
• IT proficient - comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CRM/logistics systems.
• Strong administrative ability with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving capability.
• Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently when required.
