Job summary

David Lewis Clinical & Therapy Service invites applications for a Specialist Support Nurse in Alderley Edge. The role is 22.5 hours per week (part-time) with a pro rata salary based on an FTE of £33,978.46 per annum, and requires the candidate to be an NMC-registered LD/MH nurse within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised Learning Disability Nursing / Mental Health Degree Qualification (or equivalent).
• Registered with the NMC.
• Demonstrate experiential training to demonstrate highly specialist skills.
• Demonstrate a track record for enhancing and improving outcomes for people with complex disabilities in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and time management.
• Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise with support; problem solve and plan ahead.
• Able to work on own initiative and demonstrate IT proficiency.
• Experience with audits and training delivery is desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the David Lewis Clinical & Therapy Service working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide person centred Learning Disability/ Mental Health Nursing provision.

David Lewis Clinical & Therapy Services provide support for people who live in residential services and students who access educational services. We are dedicated to improving the quality of lives for people with learning disabilities and or autism, epilepsy, complex learning disorders, including neurological impairments, and other complex support needs. The people we support ages range from 11- to end of life. We have a successful track record, built up over 120 years with expertise and are rated as GOOD by the CQC.

As a Specialist Support Nurse, you will help shape the future development of the service to meet the needs of the people we support.

The Successful Candidate Will

• Hold a recognised Learning Disability Nursing / Mental Health Degree Qualification (or equivalent).
• Registered member Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Demonstrate experiential training to demonstrate highly specialist skills.
• Demonstrate a successful track record for enhancing and improving outcomes for people with complex disabilities as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Be able to manage a caseload and prioritise with support and can problem solve and plan ahead.
• Be able to work on own initiative and possess excellent time management skills.
• Have a good working knowledge of IT applications.
• Ideally have previous involvement in Audit.
• Ideally have experience of delivering training.
