Launch your engineering career in Mechatronics Maintenance with Amazon. This apprenticeship gives you the chance to become a multi‑skilled maintenance technician in both electrical and mechanical disciplines, working with cutting‑edge robotic, conveyor and sensor technology.

Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance on automated equipment.
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
  • Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness.
  • Make modifications and upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Uphold health and safety policies and practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
Basic Qualifications
  • UK national or a non‑UK national with the right to work in the UK and settled status, or an EU national settled in the UK.
  • Resident of the UK for the duration of the programme and not registered for a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later.
  • 18 years old or older before entering an Amazon building (September 2026).
  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs at GCSE grades 9‑4 / A‑C (or equivalent) in Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
  • 36‑48 month fixed‑term contract: prerequisite that no prior qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level exists.
  • Assumption of little or no prior knowledge/experience of the occupation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 GCSEs at GCSE grades 9‑4 / A‑C (or equivalent), including Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
  • Current or pursuing a T‑Level in an Engineering subject, or A‑Levels with a bias towards science & technology or another Engineering subject.
Additional Information

Throughout the apprenticeship you will learn fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, fluid power systems assembly, mechanical device maintenance, electrical equipment wiring, hydraulics and pneumatics, and PLC operations.
