Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Research Engineer to join the RL Velocity team. You will build and improve core RL infrastructure, removing bottlenecks to accelerate researchers and scale experiments.

The position requires strong software engineering fundamentals, experience with ML infrastructure, and a bias toward shipping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with field relevance
• Experience with ML infrastructure, distributed systems or research tooling
• Ability to ship and iterate quickly across the stack

Responsibilities

• Build and improve the RL training infrastructure researchers rely on daily
• Identify and remove bottlenecks across the RL stack via debugging, profiling, and rearchitecture
• Collaborate with researchers and adjacent engineering teams to ship faster tooling
• Own the reliability and performance of research runs end-to-end
• Contribute to design decisions shaping how RL is done at scale
