Your role
  • Execute and manage client orders with precision, balancing risk to maximise market share and profitability.
  • Deliver differentiated trade ideas.
  • Build and deepen relationships across the European institutional and hedge fund client base.
  • Provide clients with insightful market commentary, execution coverage, and strategic input on single stock situations, liquidity events and block trades.
  • Develop sector-specific expertise to enhance client engagement and trading effectiveness.
  • Formulate and implement strategic plans to expand the client base and enhance risk offerings within the European franchise and MidCap sectors.
  • Proactively identify client needs and collaborate with sales and trading.
  • Operate within all regulatory, compliance, desk policy, and risk management frameworks.

Your team

You’ll be working in Cash Trading desk in London. This team provides execution and market making functions for institutional clients predominantly located within the European time zone.

Your expertise
  • A university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing client relationships within financial services.
  • Prior trading experience, ideally covering but not limited to European Midcaps.
  • Evidence of successfully running Inventory risk.
  • Ability to identify and act on market inefficiencies and opportunities.
  • Experience of having direct reports and developing junior talent.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across sales trading, specialist sales and research.
  • Analytical and entrepreneurial mindset, with demonstrated expertise in Midcap stock coverage.
