Assystem in Warrington is seeking a skilled Risk and Schedule Specialist to join our project controls team. The role focuses on applying risk management to planning, scheduling and delivery, developing risk-based schedules and supporting decision-making.

You will work with project managers, planners and stakeholders, run quantitative schedule risk analysis, and help improve risk processes. Hybrid pattern: 2–3 days in the Warrington office; Inside IR35 contract.

• Proven experience in risk management within a project or programme environment.
• Experience developing and analysing risk-based schedules.
• Experience with quantitative schedule risk analysis and interpreting results.
• Experience supporting risk reviews and workshops.
• Strong understanding of risk, scheduling, project controls and forecasting.
• Experience using risk management and scheduling software.
• Able to analyse information and communicate risk impacts clearly.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, assess and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain risk-based project schedules.

Essential Experience

• Proven project risk management experience within a project or programme environment.
• Experience developing and analysing risk-based schedules.
• Experience with quantitative schedule risk analysis and interpreting results.
• Experience supporting risk reviews and workshops.
• Strong understanding of risk, scheduling, project controls and forecasting.
• Experience using risk management and scheduling software.
• Able to analyse information and communicate risk impacts clearly.

Essential Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in risk management, project controls, project management, engineering or a related field.
• Working knowledge of recognised risk management principles and techniques.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure or complex projects.
• Experience in nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience integrating risk with cost and schedule information.
• Experience supporting risk workshops and scenario modelling.
• Experience working with contractors and supply chains.
• Experience producing risk information for reviews, forecasting and decision-making.

Desirable Qualifications

• APM Project Risk Management or equivalent.
• MoR Practitioner or equivalent risk qualification.
• Relevant project controls or project management qualification.
• Membership of a relevant professional body.

Additional Information

• The role focuses on applying risk management to support project planning, scheduling and delivery.
• A key requirement is developing and maintaining risk-based schedules that reflect risks, opportunities and uncertainty.
• You’ll work closely with project managers, planners, Project Controls and stakeholders to keep risk information aligned with the current project position.
• The role supports decision-making through risk analysis but does not own project delivery or individual project risks.
• Project-specific systems, tools, reporting and governance will be defined for each assignment.
