Job summary

QRT in London is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Risk Team and help design and build the next generation of our risk platform.

You will design and maintain production-grade Python applications, build APIs and data pipelines, and collaborate with Risk Managers and Quant Researchers to productionise analytical models. This role focuses on performance, scalability, observability and modern software practices, with opportunities to apply AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications

• Proficient Python development skills and OO design.
• Experience in production-grade software delivery.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and backend services.
• Solid SQL and data processing capabilities.
• Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous processing.
• Ability to test, debug and optimise for reliability and performance.
• Familiarity with containerisation and CI/CD practices.
• Effective communication with technical and business stakeholders.
• Passion for building robust, maintainable software and improving engineering practices.
