Turner & Townsend is seeking a QRA-capable Risk Manager to join our London-based Infrastructure team. You will implement an integrated risk management framework across a major capital programme and work with rail, aviation, water/utilities and defence sectors.

Applicants should demonstrate experience with PRA, @risk, Safran, ARM, Predict and Tableau, and hold or be able to obtain APM/IRM risk certification. A degree in a construction-related subject is preferred.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a QRA capable Risk Manager to join our busy and expanding London based Infrastructure team, who are undertaking duties on a range of high profile projects across London and the south east of England.

Owing to the complex nature of the works involved, this role will suit Risk Manager from a rail, aviation, water/utilities, highways or Defence background with proven experience and understanding of the processes to be based in our London office.

Main Purpose of Role

Implement or support the implementation of an integrated risk management framework across a major capital programme. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of threats, opportunities and issues within the sub-programme.
  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling, timely drawdown of risk budget or retirement of threat/opportunity.
  • Use risk data to inform investment planning.
  • Assist with the identification and recording of appropriate management responses which are measurable and specific, along with assessing the post mitigated positions.
  • Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against the remaining Risk budget.
  • Proactively manage the completion of management responses to help deliver target positions.
  • Work with contractors to assess contractor held risks and their views on client held risks that impact upon them.
  • Produce risk reports as required, in a timely manner, to support the effective communication of threat & opportunity status.
  • Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels.
  • Candidates will be expected to demonstrate experienced levels of competence with tools such as PRA, @risk, Safran or similar.
  • Familiarity with web-based database tools – ARM, Predict, Tableau.
Qualifications

In order to be able to carry out the duties of the role as required, candidates will be expected to demonstrate the following capabilities: Qualitative and quantitative assessment of risk, a working understanding of an integrated risk management process (risk, cost and schedule) on a large programme, risk workshop facilitation, threat mitigation and opportunity exploitation, probabilistic modelling (@risk, PRA and P6 proficiency – or equivalent). We are looking for candidates with proven experience in a risk delivery role on major projects/programmes. APM/IRM risk certified candidates preferred.

  • Further, candidates are expected to have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and be genuinely committed to finding new and more effective ways of working.
  • Candidates will ideally be degree qualified in a construction related subject.
  • We are looking for candidates with proven experience in a risk delivery role on major infrastructure projects/programmes. APM/IRM risk certified.
