Job summary

Altrad are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to lead risk management across UK infrastructure programmes. You will maintain risk registers, facilitate reviews and workshops, and provide clear risk reporting to stakeholders.

The role requires office presence three days a week and the ability to obtain SC clearance. You will analyse data to identify trends, drive mitigations, and support governance across complex live environments to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

  • Available to work in the office 3 days a week and able to obtain SC clearance.
  • Sound knowledge of risk process and management.
  • Able to analyse data objectively to form a big-picture view of risk.
  • Process detailed information to identify trends.
  • Organisational and leadership skills
  • Experience of risk analysis for infrastructure works.
  • Hands-on experience of delivering and stakeholder management.
  • Good IT skills.
  • At least 5 years in a management role.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the risk management framework, TOM, and governance.
  • Refresh and manage project and portfolio risk registers.
  • Lead monthly risk reviews, workshops, reporting and dashboards.
  • Identify risks and opportunities; support mitigation planning.
  • Collaborate with JPT Leads to review and maintain risk registers.
  • Support QSRA/QCRA risk analysis and quarterly reporting.
  • Coordinate with Change Management to capture programme impacts.
  • Manage MDAL and project assumptions.
  • Provide strategic risk insights, profiles and trend analysis.
  • Build stakeholder relationships and promote risk management.
  • Monitor supplier and partner performance; manage emerging risks.
  • Ensure compliance with project processes, procedures and governance.

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Risk Manager to join the team.

The nuclear defence sector in the UK is vital for maintaining national security and strategic stability. As a Risk Manager, you will lead risk management activities across the programme, maintaining risk registers, facilitating reviews and workshops, and providing clear risk reporting. Working closely with stakeholders, you will identify, assess, and mitigate risks to support successful project delivery.

Key Deliverables
  • Implement and maintain the risk management framework, roadmap, and Target Operating Model (TOM).
  • Refresh and manage project and portfolio risk registers.
  • Lead monthly risk reviews, workshops, reporting, and dashboard production.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, supporting mitigation planning and action tracking.
  • Collaborate with JPT Leads to review, rationalise, and maintain risk registers.
  • Support quantitative risk analysis (QSRA/QCRA) and quarterly risk reporting.
  • Coordinate with Change Management to capture programme impacts.
  • Manage project assumptions and maintain the Master Data and Assumptions List (MDAL).
  • Provide strategic risk insights, profiles, and trend analysis.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and promote effective risk management practices.
  • Monitor supplier and partner performance, proactively managing emerging risks and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all project processes, procedures, and governance requirements.
Key Requirements / Qualifications
  • Available to work in the office 3 days week & able to obtain SC clearance
  • Have a sound knowledge of risk process and management.
  • Able to objectively analyse data and information to form a big-picture view of risk.
