Job summary

Electus Recruitment is seeking a Risk Manager to lead risk processes across a major UK infrastructure project. You will own risk registers, drive mitigation actions and support governance with clear analyses and regular reviews.

The role is based in Bridgwater with hybrid working (two days on site and the rest from home). British citizenship is required, and experience in major engineering projects is advantageous.

Qualifications

• British citizenship is required.
• Practical experience in project risk management, including risk assessment, mitigation planning and maintaining risk registers.
• Experience facilitating risk reviews or workshops and engaging with project delivery teams to drive actions.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience in qualitative and quantitative risk management.
• A relevant higher national certificate, higher national diploma or equivalent demonstrable experience, alongside a recognised project management or surveying qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain project risk and opportunity registers, ensuring risks are assessed, recorded and actively managed.
• Work with risk owners to develop mitigation plans, challenge assumptions constructively and track actions through to completion.
• Facilitate regular risk reviews and workshops, helping project teams identify emerging risks and agree practical responses.
• Prepare risk reports and provide clear analysis to support project governance and informed decision-making.
• Coordinate risk inputs from contractors and other project stakeholders, maintaining consistency across project controls activities.
• Support quantitative risk analysis, contingency forecasting and alignment between risk management and commercial change processes.

This permanent role offers hands-on responsibility for risk processes, mitigation planning and project decision-making. In addition you will get the chance to work on one of the UK's most exciting Infrastructure projects.

What you will need

Salary and rewards

£45,000 to £60,000 per annum, with hybrid working offering a balance of on-site collaboration and working from home.

Your role

Your experience

• Confident using risk management tools and techniques, with strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.


• Understanding of Monte Carlo simulation and quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis, including interpretation of results.


• Experience maintaining risk registers and facilitating collaborative risk assessment sessions.


• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and build effective relationships with project delivery teams.


• A structured and analytical approach, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and remain objective under pressure.


• Experience in infrastructure, construction or major engineering projects would be advantageous, as would familiarity with commercial contracts and early warning processes.

Where you will work

The role is based in Bridgwater, with two days per week on site and the remaining working days from home.
