Job summary

Rapyd is seeking a highly motivated Operational Risk Manager to join the Second Line of Defense Risk team. The role focuses on identifying and mitigating risks from internal processes, people, systems, and external events, with responsibilities spanning framework enhancement and risk reporting.

Requirements include 5+ years in operational risk within financial institutions or fintech, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders in person and remotely.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of operational risk management experience in financial institutions or fintech.
• Understanding of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
• Knowledge of business continuity, outsourcing, information security, and data management.
• Experience performing risk/control assessments, resilience reviews, incident management, and root cause analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new business processes and systems.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders in person and remotely.
• Effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Help enhance the Operational Risk Framework (policies, procedures, controls).
• Collaborate with business units to perform risk management processes, e.g., document Important Business Services, conduct resilience reviews, investigate processes and procedures, perform risk and control assessments.
• Maintain risk registers and implement key risk indicators to monitor operational risks.
• Strengthen risk management programs (e.g., incident management, outsourcing).
• Communicate risk information to stakeholders and help prepare regular reports on operational risk matters.

It is a key role in Rapyd’s 2nd line Risk organization, responsible for helping the company identify and mitigate risks arising from internal processes, people, systems, and external events.

Responsibilities:

• Help enhance the company’s Operational Risk Framework, including policies, procedures, and controls.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders in business units to perform operational risk management processes, e.g., document Important Business Services, conduct operational resilience reviews, investigate operational processes and procedures, perform risk and control assessments.
• Maintain risk registers and implement key risk indicators to monitor operational risks.
• Help strengthen the company’s risk management programs (e.g., incident management, outsourcing).
• Communicate risk information to stakeholders across the company and help prepare regular reports on operational risk matters.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in operational risk management at a Financial Institution or Fintech.
• Understanding of risk assessment methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
• Understanding of key operational risk disciplines (e.g., business continuity, outsourcing, information security, data management).
• Experience undertaking formal risk and control assessments, operational resilience reviews, incident management, and root cause analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and strong desire to learn new business processes and systems.
• Ability to engage and collaborate with business stakeholders in person and remotely.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong work ethic; ability to work independently and as part of an international team.
