A local authority in the UK is seeking a Risk Manager to develop and promote a robust risk-management culture. The successful candidate will implement the Risk Management Strategy, guide managers in risk identification and mitigation, and create training programs. The role also involves producing reports and collaborating with the Internal Audit team to enhance controls. Role: Risk Manager
As the Risk Manager you will be at the forefront of developing and promoting a robust risk‑management culture across Huntingdonshire District Council. You will implement our Risk Management Strategy, guide managers in identifying, quantifying, and mitigating risks, and provide assurance to our Corporate Governance Committee.
You will create and deliver a comprehensive training programme to empower service managers with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of risk management. A key part of your role will involve producing insightful reports that detail our organisational risks using specialised software, ensuring that both officers and Members are well‑informed. You will present these findings to committees, illustrating how our risks are managed and highlighting necessary improvements. Collaboration with the Internal Audit team will be essential as you work together to assess mitigating controls and enhance our overall risk‑management framework.
