Turner & Townsend is seeking a QRA capable Risk Lead to join our Derby-based Real Estate team working on high-profile Defence projects across the East Midlands. The role requires experience in quantitative and qualitative risk, with strong knowledge of PRA/@risk, Safran and related tools.

The successful candidate will implement an integrated risk management framework for a major capital programme, facilitate risk workshops, and manage risk responses and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Qualitative and quantitative assessment of risk on a large programme.
  • Working understanding of risk, cost and schedule in a major project.
  • Proven experience in a risk delivery role on major programmes.
  • APM/IRM risk certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of threats, opportunities and issues within the sub-programme.
  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to inform risk budgeting.
  • Use risk data to inform investment planning.
  • Identify and record management responses that are measurable and specific.
  • Monitor overall risk exposure against the remaining Risk budget.
  • Proactively manage completion of management responses to achieve target positions.
  • Collaborate with contractors to assess contractor-held risks and views on client risks.
  • Produce risk reports to communicate threat & opportunity status.
  • Conduct quantitative risk assessment to inform project contingency levels.

We have exciting opportunity for a QRA capable Risk Lead to join our busy and expanding, Derby based Real Estate team, who are undertaking duties on a range of high profile Defence projects across the East Midlands.

Owing to the complex nature of the works involved, this role will suitRisk Managerfrom a highly-regulated industrybackground including defence & nuclear with proven experience and understanding of the processes.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Implement or support the implementation of an integrated risk management framework across a major capital programme. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of threats, opportunities and issues within the sub-programme.
  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling, timely drawdown of risk budget or retirement of threat/opportunity.
  • Use risk data to inform investment planning.
  • Assist with the identification and recording of appropriate management responses which are measurable and specific, along with assessing the post mitigated positions.
  • Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against the remaining Risk budget.
  • Proactively manage the completion of management responses to help deliver target positions.
  • Work with contractors to assess contractor held risks and their views on client held risks that impact upon them.
  • Produce risk reports as required, in a timely manner, to support the effective communication of threat & opportunity status.
  • Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels.
  • Candidates will be expected to demonstrate experienced levels of competence with tools such as PRA, @risk, Safran or similar.
  • Familiarity with web-based database tools - ARM, Predict, Tableau
REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be able to carry out the duties of the role as required, candidates will be expected to demonstrate the following capabilities: Qualitative and quantitative assessment of risk, a working understanding of an integrated risk management process (risk, cost and schedule) on a large programme, risk workshop facilitation, threat mitigation and opportunity exploitation, probabilistic modelling (@risk, PRA and P6 proficiency - or equivalent). We are looking for candidates with proven experience in a risk delivery role on major projects/programmes.APM/IRM risk certified candidates preferred.

Further, candidates are expected to have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and be genuinely committed to finding new and more effective ways of working.

Qualifications
  • Candidates will ideally be degree qualified in a construction related subject.
  • We are looking for candidates withproven experience in a risk delivery role on major infrastructure/constructionprojects/programmes.APM/IRM risk certified.
