Sizewell C is seeking a Risk, Controls & Assurance Analyst to join our Enterprise Risk, Controls & Assurance function. You will collect and analyse risk, controls and assurance information, develop dashboards and provide clear insights to support decision-making on this major UK infrastructure project.
The role offers a development path, with exposure to governance, control documentation and assurance activities while collaborating with teams across the organisation.
Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Overall, whilst the Company is in the construction phase, the Boards’ principal focus is on the development and construction of Sizewell C on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Company is maturing to meet all these requirements.
Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the RAB model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.
Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%. The CCO will need to be guided by and incorporate lessons learned from the Hinkley Point C commercial delivery to achieve Sizewell C’s ambition.
Following Financial Completion and Revenue Commencement, Sizewell C is fully funded and is owned by; The Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero representing HM Government, La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.

At Sizewell C, we’re building one of Britain’s most significant infrastructure projects, a new nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast.
And behind a project of this scale is a huge amount of information. Risks, controls, assurance activity and project data all need to come together to give the business a clear picture of what matters and where attention is needed.
That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Risk, Controls & Assurance Analyst to join our Enterprise Risk, Controls & Assurance function. You’ll help bring together information, test its quality and turn it into clear insight, while supporting practical work across enterprise risk, internal controls and integrated assurance.
You’ll be at the core of how these disciplines connect. Your work could include developing a dashboard, helping document material controls or bringing together assurance findings. Working alongside colleagues across the function, you’ll build your understanding of how risks are managed, controls are evidenced and assurance supports business decisions.
This is an exciting opportunity to build your career in risk and controls while working on one of the UK’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects.
You’ll gain exposure across Enterprise Risk, Internal Controls and Integrated Assurance through practical assignments and working with experienced colleagues and following a personal development plan. You’ll develop analytical and reporting skills alongside insight into controls, assurance, and governance - building a rounded understanding of how a major organisation manages uncertainty and checks that important arrangements are working.
This is very much a development role, giving you the opportunity to grow your technical knowledge while getting hands on with analysis, reporting, dashboards, data quality and continuous improvement.
If you’re analytical, naturally curious and enjoy getting into the detail, this could be a brilliant next step.
You’ll look beyond the numbers: asking questions, checking evidence, identifying connections and helping colleagues understand what needs attention.
We’re not looking for someone with decades of experience. Around 1 to 2 years’ experience in a relevant risk or controls role could be a great fit, while candidates with a relevant degree and strong analytical capability may also have the background we’re looking for. Experience in project management or data analytics would also be valuable.
Working alongside colleagues across the function, you’ll build experience in the following activities:
We’re looking for someone with either some professional experience in risk and controls or a relevant educational background, with the curiosity and analytical mindset to keep developing.
You’ll ideally bring:
Experience in construction or infrastructure would be particularly useful, although the hiring team is open to candidates from other sectors too.
You could bring a degree, relevant apprenticeship or equivalent professional experience in areas such as risk management, governance, business, finance, assurance, audit, project management or data.
Working towards a relevant professional qualification is desirable, as is training or experience in areas such as Excel, Power BI, data analytics, process improvement or project coordination.
What matters is your ability to organise and question information, communicate clearly and follow work through carefully. You’ll be curious about how the business operates, comfortable asking for clarification and willing to develop your knowledge across risk, controls and assurance. Previous knowledge of these disciplines is useful, but we’re not expecting expertise across all of them.
When joining Sizewell C, you may wonder why you are contacted by colleagues with an EDF email or see the EDF logo on portals that you access and/or documentation you receive; this is because we have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.
At Sizewell C we encourage and embrace diversity and how it can improve our experience and performance at work.It is a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK. Whilst sponsorship may be a possibility that we can explore, we are fully committed to local recruitment where possible, and those already holding the right to work in the UK.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
