Risk & Control Specialist– Salary circa £50,000

We are seeking an experienced Risk and Control Specialist to join our 1st line Risk & Governance Team. If you are committed to excellence and customer-centricity, this role is for you!

About the role:

The position is central within our Internal Operations in the Performance, Governance and Reporting (PGR) Team. Reporting to the Risk and Governance Manager, you will deliver first-line risk and assurance services, working with senior leadership, risk partners, third-party leads, and global functions to identify, assess, and document operational risks.

Your daily tasks will include conducting risk assessments, ensuring risks are mitigated, performing control assessments, developing mitigation strategies, managing issues and risk events, and preparing risk reports for senior management. You will also maintain comprehensive risk documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies.

Skills and experience:

  • Experience with risk and governance roles, frameworks, and tools such as IBM Open Pages and Archer.
  • Understanding of business standards like IT, Data Privacy, Operational Resilience, etc., and controls frameworks.
  • Operational risk management and control assessment experience.
  • Strong data analysis, reporting skills, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and in teams.
