Job Description

We are recruiting for a Risk, Compliance and Assurance - Technology Graduate to join our team in Oldham on a 2-year graduate programme.

We are committed to:
  • Developing our people and being an organisation where people can progress their careers.
  • Creating opportunities for people to start their career in housing, enabling social mobility and promoting diversity.
  • Being an open, diverse and inclusive organisation where everyone can contribute their ideas and shape the way we do things.
  • Building teams that are committed to our social purpose, our residents and the future of the organisation.
About the role

As a Risk, Compliance and Assurance Technology graduate, you will join the wider Guinness graduate scheme cohort, which includes roles across a variety of departments. Over a two-year programme, you will support technology improvements in reporting and analysis across the Risk, Compliance and Assurance team.

You will support the continued development of Power Platform solutions including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, to deliver innovative reporting and assurance tools across Guinness. Your role will involve helping to maintain existing solutions by troubleshooting issues, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and adopting best practice. You will document solution specifications, create user guides, and support colleagues in adopting new technologies. Alongside this, you will seek to learn and understand the elements of an effective risk management framework, including controls and assurance, while developing the intellectual curiosity to spot opportunities for improvement and system development.

You will be supported by our Senior Risk and Assurance Manager and have the opportunity to work with stakeholders across the organisation. Your work will be used to provide insight to operational teams and give assurance to the Board and Executive Team over Guinness's risk management activity.

We are a large and complex organisation, with £500m of turnover and managing over £1bn of property assets. You will have the opportunity to consult with end users to understand business requirements and convert these into technical solutions that enhance risk management, analysis, and visualisation.

We have made, and continue to make, significant investment in our people and systems. You will be working with best-in-class technology in a culture of continuous improvement. We will provide the support you need to succeed, including mentoring from experienced risk and compliance professionals, structured learning opportunities, and guidance from our dedicated Learning and Development team.

Our social purpose is the driver for everything we do. In this role, you will be contributing to improving people's lives and serving our residents and communities. This is an opportunity to make a real difference while building your career in a multimillion-pound organisation.

The programme will equip you with commercial and strategic skills in risk management, as well as helping you to develop your technical knowledge. You will develop the ability to provide strategic insights, deliver innovative solutions, and make a tangible impact on your organisation.
