Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Risk & Assurance Manager on a fixed-term 3-month contract with the potential to become permanent. The role is full-time with hybrid working and two days onsite per week in the Home Counties.

You will lead the organisation's internal audit, risk management, assurance and internal controls, strengthening the control environment and delivering high-quality assurance to senior leadership and the Board.

Qualifications

• Experience across internal audit, risk management, assurance and governance.
• Experience in regulated environments is advantageous.
• Ability to lead internal audit programmes and identify control gaps.

Responsibilities

• Lead the internal audit programme from planning to delivery and follow-up.
• Manage outsourced internal audit providers and ensure implementation of actions.
• Identify control gaps and develop practical improvement measures.
• Lead on risk and assurance; maintain the risk register and promote proactive risk culture.
• Provide risk and assurance input into key organisational projects.
• Produce clear Board and Audit & Risk Committee reports with analysis and recommendations.
• Provide expert advice across governance, risk, controls and compliance.
• Deliver project assurance, advisory work and investigations as required.

Risk & Assurance Manager

Fixed term contract for 3 months, with potential to become permanent.

Location: Home Counties.

Salary: circa £75,000 per annum (pro rata).

Are you an experienced Risk & Assurance professional looking for an opportunity where you can make an immediate impact?

We're working with a dynamic organisation seeking a Risk & Assurance Manager to take the strategic lead across internal audit, risk management, assurance and internal controls. You'll play a key role in strengthening the organisation's control environment, embedding a proactive approach to risk and providing high-quality assurance to senior leadership and the Board.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can quickly get up to speed, confidently challenge existing practices and work collaboratively across the organisation to drive improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the organisation's internal audit programme, from planning and scoping through to delivery and follow-up.
• Manage outsourced internal audit providers and ensure actions and recommendations are effectively implemented.
• Identify control gaps and areas for improvement, developing practical solutions to strengthen the control environment.
• Lead on risk and assurance, maintaining the risk register and embedding a proactive risk management culture.
• Provide risk and assurance input into key organisational projects.
• Produce clear, insightful Board and Audit & Risk Committee reports, providing analysis, advice and recommendations.
• Provide expert advice and influence across governance, risk, controls and compliance.
• Deliver project assurance, advisory work and investigations as required.

About you

We're looking for an experienced, credible professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with the ability to build relationships, influence and constructively challenge at all levels.

You'll ideally bring:

• Strong experience across internal audit, risk management, assurance, governance and internal controls.
• Experience within a regulated environment, particularly social housing, would be advantageous.
• Experience applying risk and internal control frameworks within a complex organisation.
• Demonstrable experience in leading internal audit programmes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and develop pragmatic solutions.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and providing appropriate challenge.
• Excellent written communication and experience producing high-quality reports for senior leadership and/or Boards.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work autonomously.
• A relevant professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CMIIA, IIA or equivalent.
