Risk Analyst

Department: Operational Risk

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Head Office, Chelsea House

Reporting To: Jessica Allpress

Description

The Risk Analyst will play a pivotal role in identifying and analysing operational risks across the business using data‑driven insights.

Working closely with the Risk Analytics Manager, you’ll develop and maintain dashboards and risk indicators that enhance our ability to manage risk in a rapidly evolving retail environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee operational risk data sets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery for reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare and deliver regular and ad hoc reports for Operational Risk, maintaining strong data governance and addressing business insights requests.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards (e.g., Power BI) to support self‑service data exploration and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs).
  • Automate data transformation, reporting, and analytics processes using tools such as VBA, SQL, Python, Rivery etc to reduce manual tasks.
  • Identify emerging risks, conduct deep‑dive analyses, uncover trends, root causes, and provide data‑driven insights for operational risk management.
  • Support incident reporting, loss data management, and ensure data accuracy and integrity in risk‑related processes.
  • Collaborate with teams such as IT, Data, and Operational Risk etc to ensure effective data governance, accessibility, and alignment with business needs.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of data processes, reporting frameworks, and risk management policies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials to improve data literacy and support teams in managing operational risk.
  • Support compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Provide support to teams across the business on using data to understand and manage operational risk.
Skills

Essential:

  • Strong proficiency in data visualisation and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python etc).
  • In‑depth understanding of operational risk concepts and frameworks.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Ability to communicate technical insights clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, change, and managing shifting priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Proven experience in risk analytics, data analysis, or business intelligence within retail, FMCG, or fast‑paced consumer environments.
  • Experience in fashion retail or eCommerce.
  • Familiarity with regulatory risk requirements in the UK and Ireland.
  • Understanding of enterprise risk management systems and risk event reporting tools.
  • Ability to use AI tools to enhance analysis e.g., machine learning, predictive analytics etc.
