Insight Commodities, a major international trading and investment group based in London, is seeking a Risk Management Analyst to join the Metals Trading Group. You will assess and report risk tied to live trading activity, including P&L and trade reviews, and collaborate with Front Office and Finance to meet accounting standards.

The role sits at the intersection of trading, risk and finance, offering exposure to market risk control and hedging actions within a global trading business.

Responsibilities

• Assess and report market risk on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Prepare and analyse weekly and monthly P&L reports to deadline.
• Support quarterly financial compilation through accounting memos and requirements.
• Act as a point of contact for market risk and P&L queries from internal control and external audit.
• Ensure market price risk is properly captured and hedge actions are executed.
• Prepare ad-hoc reporting to support management on positions, structure and strategy.
• Contribute to an ongoing system development project within the Metals Trading Group.

Job description

Our client, a major international trading and investment group with a well-established metals and commodities trading operation in London, is looking for a Risk Management Analyst to join their Metals Trading Group.

This is a genuinely interesting seat: you'll sit at the intersection of trading, risk and finance, independently assessing and reporting on the risk and exposures tied to live commercial trading activity, including trading positions, P&L, and trade review, all while working closely with Front Office and playing a key role in meeting accounting and regulatory standards.

What you'll be doing:

• Assessing/reporting market risk control items on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
• Preparing and analysing weekly and monthly P&L reports to deadline
• Supporting quarterly financial compilation through accounting memos and requirements
• Acting as a point of contact for market risk and P&L queries from internal control and external audit
• Ensuring market price risk is properly captured and hedge actions are executed
• Preparing ad-hoc reporting to support management on positions, structure and strategy
• Contributing to an ongoing system development project within the Metals Trading Group

What we're looking for:

• Experience in a risk management function, with solid grounding in risk management terminology
• Advanced Excel skills, with strong numerical, formula and modelling ability

• Able to work using initiative under general guidance, with a flexible, adaptable attitude
