Job summary
Qioptiq, part of Teledyne Technologies, is seeking a Graduate Optical Coating Development Engineer to join the coating development team at the St Asaph site. You will learn to design, develop, and manufacture optical thin film coatings across UV to far-IR bands, mentored by senior engineers and using state-of-the-art coating machines.
You will contribute to coating processes, perform testing with spectrophotometers and environmental chambers, and help expand capabilities for new applications in
Qualifications
- Master's degree in physics, chemistry or materials science.
- Clear technical communication skills including logbooks, presentations and report writing.
- Hands-on experience with machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and manufacture optical thin film coatings to meet specifications.
- Support existing coating processes and identify improvements.
- Review coating requirements for new product introduction with optical design team.
- Generate technical documentation for manufacturing and quality control.
