Job summary

Mammoet is hiring a CPCS qualified Rigger for heavylift and transport projects in the UK. Work from our Thornaby HQ with regular travel across the UK, including Teesside/Hixon depots. A long-term, permanent career with strong training and development is offered, with overtime opportunities.

The role involves rigging, SPMT and jack/skidding duties within a multi-disciplinary team, reporting to the Operations Manager. Applicants should have red/blue CPCS and not be trainees.

Qualifications

• CPCS red or blue with Slinger Signaller category guarded by certification.
• Experience as a rigger in onshore environments, with lifting operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle auxiliary equipment for lifting, transport and movement of loads.
• Secure the load and the job site.
• Install and disassemble ancillary materials.
• Guide the operator through signaling and radio comms.
• Ensure all work is safe and to required standards.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

• CPCS Qualified Rigger for heavylift and transport projects
• Salary £16.07 - £19.00 per hour depending on experience and tickets held. OTE £55,000-£95,000 per year depending on overtime/allowances.
• Working from our HQ in Thornaby, UK with regular travel required

Your main responsibility will be to work within a multi-disciplined team carrying out Rigging, SPMT and Jacking/Skidding duties.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, all positions are permanent. We are open to receiving applications from candidates based throughout the UK.

Please note, on occasion you may be required to attend our Teesside and/or Hixon Depot.

These roles are specifically for applicants with their red (including NVQ) or blue CPCS and experience working in an onshore rigging environment. We are not looking for Trainees at the present time.

Travel throughout the UK on projects will be required.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Preparing and handling auxiliary equipment for the lifting, transport and movement of project loads
• Securing the load and the job site
• Installing and disassembling ancillary materials
• Guiding the operator through signaling and radio comms
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and to the required standard

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Assemble lifting gear in accordance with rigging plans.
• Attach loads to crane hooks by use of lifting equipment including spreader beams, lifting beams, chain hoists, ensuring load balance, security and integrity.
• Bank the crane by use of recognised signals to safely direct the load to different types of locations.
• Manual handling activities.
• To work as part of the Jacking/Skidding team.
• Assist with the maintenance of Mammoet equipment.

WHAT YOU’LL GET

• Valid Red (with NVQ) or Blue CPCS card with the relevant categories i.e. Slinger Signaller.
• Previous experience working as a Rigger in an onshore environment
• SPMT experience is desirable.
• Forklift, MEWP, safety passport tickets are desirable.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel and work throughout the UK.
