Job Purpose: To provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a variety of settings including hospitals, care homes, GP surgeries, or community environments. The Registered General Nurse ensures the physical and emotional well-being of patients by assessing their needs, implementing care plans, and monitoring outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised patient care.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with NMC guidelines and clinical protocols.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and symptoms.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and deteriorating patients.
  • Clinical Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
  • Assist in diagnostic tests and follow treatment plans.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain infection control standards and health & safety compliance.
  • Communication & Advocacy: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions and post-treatment care.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and best interests.
  • Professional Standards: Adhere to the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct.
  • Participate in audits, training, and continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Supervise and support junior staff or healthcare assistants as needed.
