A brief description of the role

An enthusiastic Registered General Nurse (RGN) is needed to work in a low‑security setting caring with mental health diagnoses and/or learning disabilities. As part of a multidisciplinary team across both main services and step‑down services, you will play a key role in supporting patients’ recovery, wellbeing, and independence.

Roles and responsibilities
  • In accordance with NMC standards, provide safe and high‑quality nursing care to patients.
  • Develop, plan, and implement an individualized care plan in partnership with patients, their families, and caregivers.
  • Promote dignity, choice, and wellbeing for the patient by serving as the patient’s named nurse.
  • Observe, monitor, and evaluate the patient’s needs and progress.
  • Promote independence by providing therapeutic activities and day‑to‑day support.
  • Document and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain an active NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
  • Have at least one year of working experience as a nurse post‑NMC registration.
  • Show knowledge of NMC guidelines and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Be resilient, empathetic, and flexible, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
