Job summary

MASS in St Neots is seeking a Systems Test Engineer (RF) for our EWOS group. You will work hands‑on in our lab, plan and deliver RF test trials, and report results with traceable documentation. The role blends RF test craft with mission-context thinking in a safe, governed lab environment.

Essentially, you will support bench setups, perform repeatable trial runs, and collaborate with senior engineers and SMEs to deliver high-quality outcomes. An EW exposure or rapid learning ability is welcomed.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ hands-on experience supporting test, trials, integration or verification in lab/workshop environments.
• Ability to follow clear procedures and work with guidance to deliver safe, repeatable outcomes.
• Experience with common test equipment and bench practices (oscilloscope, spectrum analysis, signal generation, power measurement).
• Networking fundamentals for lab setups and basic troubleshooting; RF fundamentals for RF-adjacent testing.
• Strong hands-on engineering mindset and clear evidence capture.
• Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team and maintain safety controls.
• Exposure to Electronic Warfare or willingness to learn new domains.

Responsibilities

• Support practical preparation of trials, setting up equipment and environments.
• Check asset readiness, prepare data and documentation, ensure tools and safety controls are in place.
• During trials, execute tasks per procedures, operate test equipment safely and record configurations.
• Capture results and evidence, raise issues promptly, support fault-finding and re-test.
• Provide clear reporting to enable customer decisions and maintain traceability.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team, receive coaching and broaden experience across projects.
