Job summary

Helsing, a defence AI company, is seeking an RF Engineer on the Physical Products team to design and integrate RF systems for real-world, contested environments. You will work across the full chain, from antenna to link budgets and EW resilience, hands-on building, testing, and fixing hardware rather than relying on models.

You will collaborate with electronics, software and systems engineers to ensure RF subsystems integrate with power, structure, and avionics, while maintaining documentation

Qualifications

• Have designed and integrated RF systems in a professional context, ideally aerospace/defence.
• Understand RF fundamentals deeply enough to reason from first principles, propagation, antenna theory, link budgets, modulation, noise and interference.
• Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment, and debugging real hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify RF front-ends, antennas, and hardware trade-offs for a platform and mission.
• Own link budget analysis for communications, telemetry, and seeker/radar systems.
• Work on resilience to a contested electromagnetic environment and degrade gracefully.
• Integrate RF systems into the wider electrical architecture with grounding, shielding, EMC considerations.
• Hands-on with RF test equipment to characterize, debug, and validate real hardware.
• Collaborate with electronics, software, and systems engineers to ensure RF subsystems integrate with power and avionics.
• Support field testing and feed results back into design.
• Produce clear documentation and interface definitions.
