Not disclosed is seeking a senior RF contractor to join the Cambridge site onsite for an initial 6-month engagement, tackling RF design, validation and obsolescence challenges across an existing product range.

This hands-on role requires immediate, practical support to both development and manufacturing engineering activities and will require close collaboration with the onsite team to deliver robust RF solutions.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in discrete RF design and validation.
• Strong background with FGen/VCO along with TX/RX circuit design.
• Experience across 400MHz-900MHz frequencies (PMR environments highly relevant).
• Good understanding of RF component selection, market availability and obsolescence resolution.
• Experience working on integrated products rather than isolated RF modules/gain blocks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with engineering teams onsite.

RF Design Contractor | 6 Months | 4 days onsite | Outside IR35 | Cambridge

I'm currently supporting an engineering company looking for a senior RF contractor to join them onsite for an initial 6 month engagement, helping solve a range of RF design, validation and obsolescence challenges across an existing product range.

This is a hands‑on role for somebody who can hit the ground running, integrate into the team quickly and add value across both development and manufacturing engineering activities.

Key experience required:

• Recent experience in discrete RF design and validation
• Strong background with FGen/VCO along with TX/RX circuit design
• Experience across 400MHz-900MHz frequencies (PMR type environments highly relevant)
• Good understanding of RF component selection, market availability and obsolescence resolution
• Experience working on integrated products rather than isolated RF modules/gain blocks
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with engineering teams onsite

Desirable:

• PMR experience
• LTE/module/chipset integration experience at 2-5GHz
• EMC debug experience

The business is looking for somebody practical and delivery-focused who enjoys solving problems rather than purely R&D-style work.

Onsite requirement is 4 days per week minimum. There may be flexibility to compress hours across 4 longer days.
