Job summary

COX (Design Consult Construct) seeks an experienced Revit BIM Technician for an initial 3-month contract in Colchester. Role includes supporting design and construction teams on commercial schemes, including steel-framed developments and extensions.

Responsibilities include creating Revit models, drawings, and detailing across concept to as-built stages, coordinating MEP, architectural and structural information, and assisting with technical queries.

Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge and practical experience of Autodesk Revit.
  • Experience producing construction-level models, drawings and details.
  • Understanding of building construction and the coordination of architectural, structural and MEP information.
  • Experience working on commercial, steel-framed or similar construction projects would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with designers, engineers and site teams.
  • Practical understanding of how BIM models and drawings translate into construction on site.

  • Prepare and develop Revit models from concept through construction and as-built stages.
  • Produce construction drawings, details and coordinated technical information.
  • Model structural steel frames, architectural elements and MEP services.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural and MEP information within Revit.
  • Update models and drawings to reflect design changes and site information.
  • Prepare and maintain as-built Revit models and drawings.
  • Assist site and project teams with technical queries and construction detailing.
  • Review consultant and subcontractor information for potential coordination issues.
  • Support the wider project team with BIM and Revit requirements.

The successful candidate will support the design and construction teams across a range of commercial new-build and extension projects, including steel-framed developments, residential flats, car showrooms and other commercial buildings.

  • Preparation and development of Revit models from concept through to construction and as-built stages.
  • Production of construction drawings, details and coordinated technical information.
  • Modelling of structural steel frames, architectural elements and MEP services.
  • Coordination of architectural, structural and building services information within Revit.

Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

Position

Contract: Initial 3-month contract

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, normal office working hours, office based with some flexibility possible.

Projects: Commercial new-build and extension projects

Salary / Rate: Negotiable depending on experience

The position would suit a practical Revit Technician who is comfortable working across different disciplines and wants to be involved in projects from design development through construction and final as-built information.
