Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Enfieldto assist with the appointment of a Review Officer - Housing, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £23.24 - £29.00 per Hour

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Review Officer with a strong background in housing law, particularly regarding the Housing Act 1996 (Parts 6 and 7). This is a remote role with occasional office attendance required. An immediate start is essential due to the urgent nature of this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake statutory reviews under Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
  • Conduct complex housing investigations and provide legally robust decisions.
  • Liaise effectively with solicitors, legal representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Work independently and manage a personal caseload efficiently.
  • Ensure decisions are well-documented, legally sound, and delivered within set timeframes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 and relevant case law.
  • Proven experience in conducting housing reviews and writing detailed legal decisions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage complex cases from start to finish.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, especially when dealing with legal representatives.
  • Legal, housing, or public sector qualification or relevant experience is highly desirable.
