Job Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Revenues Officer to join our dynamic revenues and benefits team. You will be responsible for the administration, billing, collection and recovery of council tax and business rates, ensuring compliance with legislation and delivering excellent service to our residents and businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Council Tax and/or Business Rates accounts, including billing, discounts, exemptions and recovery.
  • Investigate and resolve complex queries and disputes.
  • Liaise with customers, internal departments and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity.
  • Contribute to service improvements and performance targets.
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 3 years recent experience in a Revenues Officer role within a local authority setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Council Tax and/or Business Rates legislation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

The team delivers front line customer services for the Council. The post holder must be prepared to work with other members of the team to provide cover until 5pm on an agreed rota basis. This includes attending the customer service centre on a rota basis if required.

The post is open to hybrid working.
