Retrofit Coordinator

Location: Manchester, London, or Bristol (Hybrid)

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding Retrofit Department within a leading built environment consultancy. The team delivers full end-to-end retrofit services for a wide range of clients, focusing on large-scale social housing regeneration and energy efficiency projects.

You’ll be working on significant retrofit schemes – often involving 500+ properties – covering the implementation of energy efficiency measures, fabric upgrades, and renewable energy solutions.

The Retrofit team operates collaboratively alongside in-house disciplines such as architecture, sustainability, building services engineering, and surveying, providing a unique opportunity to broaden your expertise across the built environment.

You’ll also have access to a dedicated Retrofit Development Pathway, offering ongoing CPD, qualifications, and structured progression to support your career growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the full retrofit process as a Retrofit Coordinator, collaborating with Retrofit Assessors, Designers, contractors, and clients.
  • Protect client and public interests by ensuring projects are safe, compliant, and high quality, while proactively managing risk.
  • Ensure seamless communication between project teams across all RIBA stages, maintaining compliance with PAS 2035, PAS 2030, and Building Regulations.
  • Carry out energy modelling, prepare Improvement Option Evaluations and Medium‑Term Plans for multiple properties.
  • Ensure compliance with DESNZ funding requirements, lodging completed works on the TrustMark database within required timescales.
  • Provide regular client updates, project reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Advise on energy efficiency measures aligned with client objectives – including carbon reduction, cost savings, and improved thermal comfort.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as social housing providers, asset managers, programme managers, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Support Retrofit Designers in compiling PAS 2035‑compliant design packs and collate key documentation including surveys, guarantees, and assessment data.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Level 5 Retrofit Coordination & Risk Management qualification (essential).
  • Proven experience delivering retrofit coordination under SHDF, LAD, or HUG schemes.
  • Level 3 Energy Efficiency Measures in Older & Traditional Buildings qualification (essential).
  • Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor and/or Level 4 Domestic Retrofit Assessor qualifications (preferred).
  • Experience working with social housing providers and contractors on large‑scale retrofit projects.
  • Strong understanding of PAS 2035 processes, including Improvement Option Evaluations, Medium‑Term Plans, and TrustMark lodgement.
  • Proficient in software such as AirTable, Cotality, PAS Hub, Elmhurst, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits.
  • Analytical thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in consultancy or retrofit‑related project environments.
