Job summary

Toolstation in Scarborough is seeking a retail supervisor. You will be the face of the branch, supporting the Store Manager, checking deliveries and stocking shelves, and delivering great customer service even when busy.

We value a positive attitude, reliability and teamwork as you help customers and ensure branch standards are maintained. Training and development are provided within the Travis Perkins group.

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required; focus on delivering great service and willingness to learn.
• Strong team spirit and willingness to muck in to support the team.
• Reliable, flexible, positive attitude with a passion for customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the Store Manager in their absence and coach the team to grow sales and achieve targets.
• Check deliveries, unpack and stock shelves, and maintain branch presentation.
• Deliver excellent customer service with a smile and ensure customers leave with what they need.
• Build relationships with customers and help them find products for their jobs.
• Maintain high branch standards and product availability so the store is a welcoming place to work.

Job description

Our stores are open from 7 AM to 8 PM, so you must be able to manage early starts and late finishes.

Of course as a retail supervisor, you’ll serve customers, and support the Store Manager but you’ll also be checking deliveries, picking items from the warehouse and stocking shelves. Day-to-day

• Supporting. Whether it’s standing in for the Store Manager in their absence, motivating and engaging the team or coaching the team to grow sales and achieve targets.
• Mucking in. Checking and unpacking deliveries, stocking shelves, cleaning the branch and putting orders together.
• Delivering great service. Providing a great customer experience with a smile on your face – no matter how busy you are and coaching the team to do the same.
• Asking questions and building relationships. Making sure our customers leave the branch with everything that they need for the job.
• Building a fun working environment. Maintaining our great product availability and high branch standards, while making sure that your branch is somewhere everyone loves coming to work.
